Open Show: 25th October 2008

The Open show was held at the Holyport Village hall where our judge was Mr Ken Bartlett. The committee arrived early to set up the show, but due to a major accident on the M4 motorway the start had to be delayed as the exhibitors and judge were caught in the tailback. but everyone worked hard to make the show successful. The atmosphere was a happy one, with all the exhibitors joining in to enjoy themselves. The results of the show are on the Open show results page, but there was a lot more going on than just the show.
The kitchen was efficiently run by Kelly Reynolds and Angela Gallett, with a large selection of reasonably priced food on offer, and their dessert for the judge and his wife was a masterpiece

A Baby Puppy Class was held and was judged by Mr. Peter Ensell, There were two Kerries and a Lakeland terrier, after going over the dogs Peter’s winner was the Lakeland puppy owned by Julie Moss. Don Munro was busy helping people with their trimming, and giving tips. It was also good to see some new Kerry owners at the show and they enjoyed showing their young Kerries

The judging by Mr Bartlett then took place( see open show report) After the judging we drew the raffle and then set up the mini agility equipment, Everybody who stayed got into the spirit of the event and it is hard to say who enjoyed it more, the dogs or the exhibitors. There was no overall winner, (due to the handlers being unable to jump the fences and go through the tunnels) unlike the dogs who were having great fun jumping and but not so sure about the tunnels.

Everybody agreed that it was a good day, and because of that
we are hoping to enlarge on it next year with our Halloween theme.
