THE KERRY BLUE TERRIER ASSOCIATION OPEN SHOW SUNDAY 25TH OCTOBER 2009
I was honoured and delighted to be invited to judge the Open Show of the Kerry Blue Terrier Association. I would like to thank the exhibitors for their entries and support on the day and my steward Tony Salmon. Temperaments throughout were very good, pigment was, overall of a good standard. Veteran D/B (3-1a) 1. BVIS Phillips GALWAYDREAM LADY ENYA, this bitch has retained a clean skull & neat ears, dark eye, straight front, ribs well back, tail set on, moved soundly fore & aft, 2. Adamson’s DANIELLE SERENA ADABELLE, another bitch who has retained a good outline, straight front, good depth of chest & sound quarters, preferred the neater feet of Enya Junior D (1) 1.Read’s KOPYKATS KING OF THE CASTLE, promising youngster, not a big dog but balanced throughout, clean head of good length, dark eye & correct bite, neat front, deep chest & level topline, good tail set, sound quarters used well on the move, still maturing, well presented. Post Graduate D (2) 1. Lee’s JODESEIL GEORGE THE VIKING, good length of head & ear set, ample bone, deep chest, level topline, good tail set, used his quarters well on the move, 2. Davies’s BRANDYN THE MIGHTY ATOM Limit D (4) 1. RBD, Pinfold’s CYRES MASTER CRAFTSMAN, half brother to BIS, smart youngster, balanced head, good ear set, dark eye, correct bite, straight front, deep chest, topline held on the move, tail set on, well made hindquarters, colour just starting to change, gave his handler a tough time, but strides out when he settles, lovely coat texture & presentation, 2. JODESEIL GEORGE THE VIKING, 3 Adamson’s ADABELLE BLUE LAUREL Open D, (3:2a) 1, BD & BIS, Munro’s ARKAMA BIG TIME, upstanding dog of good breed type & quality, head of correct proportion, very well set ears, dark eye & good depth of muzzle, good front assembly, run-in & layback, deep chest, lovely topline, firm loin & good tail set, well angulated quarters & strong hocks, moved & showed with aplomb, lovely coat of depth & correct texture, A1 presentation as you would expect from this exhibitor, should make up Puppy B (1) 1, RPB & RBPIS, Baxter’s ARKAMA IT GIRL, lovely feminine bitch still developing at 8mths, clean head, good ears, dark eye, & correct bite, straight front, good neck & shoulders, topline held on the move, sound quarters & neat feet, a promising bitch, just lacked the verve of her sister Ice Queen in the challenge. Junior B (1) 1, PBB, RBB & BPIS, Munro’s ARKAMA ICE QUEEN, this puppy bitch had personality plus, gave her handler a really hard time but her quality stands out, lovely head & expression, good bite & muzzle, straight front, good run-in & layback, ribs carried well back, level topline, sound quarters, her tail never stopped wagging, a happy showgirl, just hope she has stopped growing Post Graduate B (1) 1 Phillips BRANDYN ETERNAL FLAME, flat skull, dark eye & good ear set, neat front, deep chest, topline held on the move, tail set on, used her quarters well on the move Open B (4-3a) 1, BB, BOS & RBIS, Jones KAMAGHAN SEE ‘N’ NOTICE AT JONDRY, lovely bitch to handle, well made head, dark eye & correct bite, neat front, well ribbed back, deep chest & level topline, good tail set & well made hindquarters, lovely coat texture & colour, at times her ears tend to fly, her steady movement in the challenge gained her RBIS 2.Downsview Special Beginners D/B (2) 1. KOPYKATS KING OF THE CASTLE, 2. BRANDYN THE MIGHTY ATOM Not Bred By Exhibitor D/B (1) 1. BRANDYN THE MIGHTY ATOM, this dog presented a good outline, but would not let me assess his mouth in the earlier class, neat front, deep chest & level topline, hind movement could be more positive Bred By Exhibitor D/B (1) 1. BRANDYN ETERNAL FLAME
